ONE of Glasgow’s most iconic live music venues is opening a new beer garden for the summer.
The Lane, which is located in a cobbled lane off Platform, is a new “urban oasis” that seats over 100 people with decorative pergolas, colorful string lights and flowery hanging baskets.
Tonight, to celebrate the opening, Gordon Airlie will provide live entertainment and touring band Fleetwood Max will also perform in one of the arches from 7.30pm with the Fleetwood Mac Disco.
The beer garden will be open every weekend from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and customers can dine on Platform’s popular street food menu, from Korean wood-fired chicken to wood-fired pizzas, or new dishes like Cajun shrimp tacos.
For drinks, there’s a wide range of cocktails and spirits, with new additions to the menu such as a passion fruit daiquiri, strawberry martini, and rum punch.
Kathryn McCormick, owner of Platform, said: “In true Scottish fashion, the weather looks like it could turn this weekend, but we won’t let that dampen our spirits.
“Our outdoor lane is an urban oasis in the city and we promise it will light up your weekend.
“We are delighted to launch The Lane and our new menu and of course we will be open indoors or outdoors if it falls from the sky.
“Come join us to eat, drink and dance at Fleetwood Disco.
“It’s one of my favorite nights.”
Fleetwood Mac Disco tickets cost £14 pp and can be booked HERE.
