New beer garden opens in Glasgow city center

Platform unveiled a new beer garden and menu ahead of summer.

Platform’s Lane is a new urban oasis that comfortably seats over 100 people outdoors and is adorned with decorative pergolas, colorful festoon lighting and flowery hanging baskets.

Located in a cobbled lane next to the old Arches house, it is now open every weekend from 12pm to 10pm.

The street food platform’s menu is also available in the new space and includes dishes such as burgers, sliders, Korean fried chicken, wood-fired pizzas and tacos.

New dishes include Cajun Shrimp Tacos with Chipotle Cream and White Cabbage and Cilantro Slaw or an array of mini burgers including Pulled Pork and Cod Gudgeon with Spicy Ground Lamb Curry.

There are also dishes to share like the new charcuterie platter which offers the best of Italian snacking with prosciutto, mortadella and Salami Napoli charcuterie, Gordal olives, roasted tomatoes and fresh ciabatta bread.

New cocktails include a passion fruit daiquiri, strawberry martini and rum punch.

Live entertainment is also planned, with musical performances by Gordon Airlie this Saturday. To get customers in the party spirit and celebrate the launch of the outdoor lane, Platform has created a weekend of fun where you can eat, drink and dance the night away.

Top touring band Fleetwood Max will be on hand to recreate the sound of the legendary rock band. Fleetwood Mac Disco’s stunning stage and live visual starts from 7.30pm in one of their arches this Saturday 7th May.

Play classics to perfection like Go your own way, rumors, little lies and in addition, it is an evening not to be missed. Alongside the live band is a stage and visual spectacle, which includes a disco DJ set and a few surprises.

The platform operates every Friday and Saturday and serves street food from midday until late, with a fully licensed bar offering a rotating list of classic cocktails, guest beers and a range of gins and whiskeys Scottish, as well as local craft sodas.
